The transaction will enable Sigdo Koppers to consolidate a strategic port platform in Mejillones, building on Puerto Ventanas S.A.’s more than 35 years of experience and expanding the Group’s capabilities to address the future challenges of the mining and industrial sectors.

Through Logística Portuaria Andes SpA (“LPA”), a subsidiary of Puerto Ventanas S.A. (PVSA), Sigdo Koppers entered into a purchase agreement with ENGIE Energía Chile S.A. for the acquisition of the assets of Puerto Andino, a port terminal located in the municipality of Mejillones, in Chile’s Antofagasta Region, following the fulfillment of the conditions established in the purchase agreement signed in February of this year.

The transaction will strengthen the Group’s presence in Chile’s logistics infrastructure and expand its range of port services for customers in the mining sector and other industries. It also represents an important step in Puerto Ventanas’ growth strategy, focused on developing integrated logistics solutions and supporting the future needs of sectors that are strategic to Chile.

Puerto Andino has specialized infrastructure for bulk cargo handling, mechanized operating systems, and conditions that support operational continuity, with maritime availability of approximately 95% and the capacity to handle more than 6 million tons annually. It also has back-up areas available for the development of new logistics opportunities in the region.
