In 1960, the Chilean company Ingenieros Asociados Sigma Donoso partners with Koppers Co., headquartered in Pittsburgh, United States. They created Ingeniería y Construcción Sigdo Koppers S.A., the foundation of what today is known as Sigdo Koppers S.A.

In 1974 a group of professionals from the company acquires control of the company through the purchase of its shares. From then on the company starts growing through new lines of business and the creation of companies, becoming one of the leading industrial conglomerates in Chile.

In order to consolidate the Group's growth, in 2005 Sigdo Koppers S.A. is established as the parent company. Its shares are traded in the Chilean stock market since October of 2005.

    • Sigdo Koppers S.A. vende su participación de 90% en Compañía de Hidrogeno Bio Bio S.A. a la Empresa Nacional del Petroleo (ENAP), propietaria del 10%. El proyecto fue concebido como BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) en 2005.
    • Ingeniería y Construcción Sigdo Koppers S.A. (ICSK) acquired the company Dessau Chile Ingeniería, to increase its capacity to execute engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects.
    • Puerto Ventanas S.A. inaugurated its new “La Greda” dry bulk storage facility, with a storage capacity of 46,000 tons.
    • ICSK started up operations in Brazil, through a partnership with the local firm Alumini, for the execution of power transmission projects.
    • SK Bergé S.A. added Peugeot to its operations in Colombia.
    • Enaex made its first local-market bond issue for an aggregate of UF 2.5 million.
    • Enaex acquires the remaining 66.6% of Britanite.
    • Enaex acquires 90.82% of Davey Bickford, one of the most important manufacturers and distributors of electronic detonators in the world.
    • Sigdo Koppers is chosen by Santiago Stock Exchange to form part of the first sustainability index in Chile.   
    • Acquisition of the remaining 45% of Sabo Chile.
    • Enaex acquires Chemtrade and starts operations in Perú.
    • Magotteaux opens a new plant in Thailand, increasing its capacity in 50,000 tons of high chrome balls. 
    • SK Rental starts operations in Colombia
    • Sale of Sigdopack S.A. and Sigdopack Argentina S.A. to Oben Holding Group.
    • SKBergé starts representing Volvo in Colombia
    • Acquisition of 55% of SABO Chile.
    • Sigdo Koppers S.A. increases its capital by US$ 453 million.

    • Enaex S.A. begins the fourth phase of Prillex América, the largest petrochemical production complex of ammonium nitrate for the mining industry worldwide.
    • SKC Rental S.A. begins operations in Brazil.

    • SKC creates the subsidiaries Asiandina Motor and Comercial Asiandina to distribute equipment of the brand SDLG.
    • Enaex receives Carbon certification from the United Nations.
