1974

A group of Ingeniería y Construcción Sigdo Koppers executives take control of the Company. The current controlling group of Sigdo Koppers S.A. is based on part of said group of executives.

1975

Beginning of commercialization of industrial and agricultural machinery through SKComercial.

1987

Acquisition of CTI and Somela.
Start of automobile commercialization through Comercial Itala.

1990

Entry into ownership and control of Enaex.
Start of activities of SK Ecologia, environmental solutions.
Acquisition of the white line business in Argentina, Frimetal.

1993

Acquisition of the majority shareholding of Enaex. Expansion of its operations to the Peruvian market.

1997

Start of production of high-tech plastic films for the manufacture of flexible food packaging, Sigdopack.

1998

SKC expands its operations into the machinery rental business through SKC Rental. Incursion of Ingeniería y Construcción Sigdo Koppers in Peru, through SSK Montajes e Instalaciones.

2000

Inauguration of Enaex's third ammonium nitrate plant, which meant doubling its productive assets.

2001

Spanish group Bergé enters as a strategic partner in the automotive commercial activities. Acquisition of control of Puerto Ventanas, bulk cargo and fuel port.

2003

Acquisition of Fepasa, rail transport.

2005

Compañia de Hidrogeno Bío-Bío S.A. begins operations. Beginning of commercialization of Volvo machinery in Argentina. Entry into the medium-sized construction business through Constructora Logro. Creation of SKBC, a subsidiary of SKBergé. Public listing of Sigdo Koppers S.A.

2006

Sigdopack inaugurates in Chile bioriented nylon plant (BOPA), unique in Latin America. Creation of SKC Rental in Peru. SKBergé begins the representation and distribution of KIA in Peru and Argentina. SKC begins the representation of Volvo machinery in Peru. Creation of SK Industrial, a subsidiary of Sigdo Koppers Ingenieria y Construccion.

2007

Enaex begins the expansion of its plant in Mejillones. Sigdopack starts up a new BOPP plant in Argentina. Frimetal starts expanding the capacity of its refrigerator and automatic washing machine plant in Rosario, Argentina. SKBergé begins the representation and distribution of Chery in Chile.

2008

Sigdopack inaugurates a new BOPP plant in the town of Campana, Argentina. SKBergé begins the distribution of the MG brand in Chile and Peru, and the agreement with Tata is made official. SKC creates the subsidiaries Asiandina Motor and Comercial Asiandina.

2009

Start of commercialization of Tata vehicles. SKC creates the Asiandina Motor and Comercial Asiandina subsidiaries to distribute the SDLG equipment brand. Enaex receives Carbon Bond certificates from the United Nations Organization.

2010

Entry of SKBergé S.A. to the Colombian market to represent the brands of the Chrysler Group. Enaex S.A. launches the fourth stage of Prillex America, the largest petrochemical complex for the production of ammonium nitrate for mining worldwide. SKC Rental S.A. starts operations in Brazil.

2011

Sale of CTI Compañía Tecno Industrial S.A., to the company Electrolux. Acquisition of the Belgian company Magotteaux Group. Ingeniería y Construcción Sigdo Koppers S.A. acquires the majority shareholding of Construcciones y Montajes COM S.A. Sigdo Koppers S.A. carries out a capital increase for 275,000,000 new shares.

2012

Acquisition of 55% ownership of SABO Chile. Sigdo Koppers S.A. carries out a capital increase for US$453 million. Sigdo Koppers S.A. enters the property of Godelius S.A. Start of operations of SKC Transporte S.A. Corporate bond issue of Sigdo Koppers S.A. for UF 2,000,000. Sigdo Koppers S.A. through Enaex, enters the ownership of the Brazilian firm Britanite. SKC Rental S.A. expands its operations to Colombia.

2013

SK Rental starts operations in Colombia. Sale of Sigdopack S.A. and Sigdopack Argentina S.A. to the company Oben Holding Group. SKBergé starts representing Volvo in Colombia.

2014

Sigdo Koppers acquires the remaining 45% of Sabo Chile. Enaex enters Peru directly through the purchase of Chemtrade. Magotteaux opens a new plant in Thailand with a capacity of 50,000 tons of high chrome grinding balls.

2015

Enaex issues bond for UF 2,500,000; acquires 66.6% of Britanite, reaching 99.99% ownership; acquires 90.82% of Davey Bickford, a leading French multinational company in the electronic detonators market. Sigdo Koppers is selected as one of the 12 companies that will be part of the sustainability index of the Santiago Stock Exchange.

2016

SKIC acquires the company Dessau Chile Ingeniería, with the aim of increasing its capacity to execute EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects. Puerto Ventanas S.A. inaugurates its new solid bulk warehouse "La Greda", with a storage capacity of 46,000 tons. SKIC starts operations in Brazil, through the association with the local company Alumini, for the execution of energy transmission projects. SKBergé S.A. incorporates the Peugeot brand to its operations in Colombia.

2017

Sigdo Koppers S.A. and China Railway Group Limited sign a cooperation agreement for the development of infrastructure projects in Chile and Latin America. The construction of a new loader and shipping system for copper concentrate in Puerto Ventanas S.A. is completed. With an investment of US$35 million, it represents important competitive advantages for the port. Enaex S.A. presents Robominer and MineiTruck, teleoperation and robotization innovations that allow a safer operation and access to resources whose exploitation was unfeasible. Ingeniería y Construcción Koppers S.A. awarded contracts for 1,357 km of high voltage lines in Brazil. Sigdo Koppers S.A. sells its 90% stake in Compañía de Hidrogeno Bio Bio S.A. to the National Petroleum Company (ENAP), owner of 10%. The project was conceived as BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) in 2005.

2018

Enaex establishes a strategic alliance with Grupo Gloria in Peru, by entering the ownership of Industrias Cachimayo, the only producer of ammonium nitrate in that country. With this, Enaex continues its consolidation as one of the largest producers of industrial grade ammonium nitrate worldwide. Magotteaux International S.A. enters the ownership of Grinding Media South Africa (GMSA), a South African company that manufactures grinding balls for mining. In this way it deepens its alliance with Scaw Metals Group, owner of GMSA. PVSA inaugurates its new loader and shipping system for copper concentrate. SKBergé starts representing Bentley Motors in Chile.

2019

Sigdo Koppers S.A. issues bond for UF 1,300,000. SKBergé sells its stake in the Santander Consumer Finance business in Chile and Peru.

2020

Enaex S.A. makes effective its entry as controlling partner of Enaex Africa, a Joint Venture formed by the Explosives Division of Sasol
South Africa Limited and Enaex S.A. Enaex S.A. reaches an agreement for the acquisition of Downer Blasting Services, a subsidiary of Rock Fragmentation Services of the Australian company Downer Group. SK Godelius S.A. begins a process of international expansion with the opening of an office in Canada. Puerto Ventanas S.A. incorporates the Shoretension dynamic mooring system, becoming the second port in Chile and third in South America to have this technology to mitigate the effect of tidal waves. ICSK S.A. is awarded the first mining contract in Brazil, project. Replacement of Ball Mills, for Companhia Vale do Rio Doce S.A.

2021

SK Comercial S.A sells its stake in SK Rental Locação de Equipamentos Ltda (“SK Rental Brasil). Enaex S.A. entry into the Australian mining market through the acquisition of 100% of Downer Blasting Services (now Enaex Australia).

2022

Puerto Ventanas, through its subsidiary Puerto Abierto S.A., signed a strategic alliance with ENGIE to operate and market the Puerto Andino terminal in Mejillones. SKBergé changes its name to Astara Latam S.A. Astara Latam begins operations in Bolivia after acquiring the majority shareholding of Ovando S.A. Astara Latam S.A. begins the representation of the automotive brand Exeed in Chile.

2023

Enaex acquires 100% of the Australian group MTI, manufacturer and distributor of rock fragmentation products, and 45% of the Portuguese company O-Pitblast. Puerto Ventanas (PVSA), through its subsidiary Puerto Abierto (PASA), signed a contract with SQM for the unloading and storage of soda ash, through Puerto Andino in the Bay of Mejillones. Puerto Ventanas, through its subsidiary PASA, begins the operation of Puerto Andino, owned by the company Engie, in Mejillones. Ferrocarril del Pacífico (FEPASA) begins the first transport of logs to the new line 3, which is part of the Arauco MAPA project. Magotteaux Group reaches the majority shareholding in Grinding Media South Africa (GMSA), after adding 36% of the company's shares to its stake. Astara Latam begins the representation and distribution of BYD electric cars in Chile.

OUR HISTORY

In 1960, the Chilean company Ingenieros Asociados Sigma Donoso associated with Koppers Co., based in Pittsburgh, United States, forming Engineering and Construction Sigdo Koppers S.A., the foundation of what is today Sigdo Koppers S.A.

In 1974, a group of professionals from Sigdo Koppers acquired control of the Company, through the purchase of its shares. With this operation, a growth process began, through new business lines and the creation of new companies, becoming one of the main industrial conglomerates in Chile. With the purpose of consolidating the growth of the Group, in 2005 Sigdo Koppers S.A. was established as parent company. Its shares have been traded on the Chilean stock market since October of that same year.
